What is an SMC electricity meter box? What materials is it made of?

An SMC electricity meter box is a professional electrical equipment enclosure specially designed for installing and protecting electricity meters, switches, and wiring terminals. It is made of high-performance SMC (Sheet Molding Compound), which is a composite material composed of unsaturated polyester resin, glass fiber, low-shrinkage additive (LSA), flame-retardant additive and other auxiliaries, formed by high-temperature compression molding. It integrates excellent insulation, corrosion resistance and mechanical strength, and is widely used in indoor and outdoor power metering systems.

What are the core advantages of SMC electricity meter boxes compared with traditional metal (steel, iron) or ordinary plastic meter boxes?

Compared with traditional meter boxes, SMC electricity meter boxes have obvious comprehensive advantages, which are more suitable for complex power metering environments:
① Excellent insulation performance: It has high insulation resistance (1.0×10⁹ MΩ after soaking in water for 24h), no electric leakage, no need for grounding, and can effectively avoid electric safety hazards;
