Fiberglass Double Biaxial Fabric (+45°/-45°) Overview

Setting the global standard for extreme torsional reinforcement, POLYMER's fiberglass double biaxial fabric (+45°/-45°) is a highly advanced multiaxial structural textile. As a premier multiaxial fiberglass stitched mat manufacturer, we meticulously engineer this fabric by aligning continuous direct rovings strictly parallel in the +45° and -45° directions. These intersecting layers are then securely locked together using a strong polyester stitching yarn, completely eliminating the need for chemical binders.

Unlike standard woven materials, this non-crimp biaxial fiberglass fabric allows the fibers to lie perfectly flat without bending. This revolutionary architecture delivers optimal high shear resistance fiberglass cloth performance and unparalleled fatigue endurance. Fully compatible with Epoxy, Vinyl Ester, and Polyester resins, it guarantees rapid resin wet-out, making it the definitive reinforcement for vacuum infusion biaxial fiberglass processes, heavy-duty wind turbine blades, and high-performance marine boat hulls.

Empowering Advanced Composite Fabrication

Whether you are infusing massive wind turbine skins or molding luxury yacht hulls, our engineered double biaxial fabrics secure your structural integrity against extreme twisting forces:

  • For Wind Energy & Aerospace: Leverage our double biaxial fabric for wind blades. The precise +45°/-45° fiber orientation is specifically designed to absorb massive torsional (twisting) stress, ensuring the aerodynamic stability of the blade under extreme cyclic wind loads.

  • For High-Performance Marine Hulls: Deploy our fiberglass biaxial fabric for boat hulls. It provides exceptional shear strength to counter the severe hydrodynamic impacts and torsional twisting forces experienced by speedboats and luxury yachts traversing rough seas.

  • For Sports Equipment & Auto Parts: Utilize our epoxy compatible biaxial fiberglass to manufacture lightweight, ultra-stiff components such as snowboards, racing car chassis, and high-pressure containers where off-axis strength is critical.

  • For Regional Raw Material Distributors: Source directly from a verified +45/-45 degree fiberglass fabric supplier. We offer fully customizable weights (from 450g to 1500g), custom slit widths, and highly competitive factory-direct export pricing.

Core Performance Advantages

Maximum Shear Strength

Maximum Shear & Torsional Strength

The precise +45° and -45° fiber alignment provides the absolute highest resistance against twisting and shear forces, crucial for dynamic structural components.

Zero Crimp

Zero-Crimp Architecture

The straight fibers do not bend or interlace. This eliminates internal friction and micro-cracking, resulting in the ultimate fatigue resistance for long-term cyclic loading.

Vacuum Infusion

Optimized for Vacuum Infusion

The binder-free stitching structure creates built-in micro-channels, facilitating incredibly fast and complete resin flow during advanced closed-mold injection processes.

Customizable

Highly Customizable Structure

Can be seamlessly stitched together with an additional layer of chopped strands to provide isotropic strength and improve surface finish in a single, efficient lay-up step.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

+ Why choose a +45°/-45° Biaxial Fabric instead of 0°/90°?

A 0°/90° fabric provides excellent tensile strength along its length and width. However, structural components like wind turbine blades and boat hulls often face extreme "twisting" forces (torsion and shear stress). The diagonal fiber alignment in our +45/-45 degree fiberglass fabric supplier design is geometrically optimized to absorb these off-axis twisting forces, delivering maximum torsional strength fiberglass reinforcement that 0°/90° fabrics simply cannot match.

+ What is the benefit of adding a Chopped Strand layer (Combo Mat)?

While the double biaxial structure offers immense shear resistance, it lacks isotropic (all-direction) strength and leaves small gaps between rovings. A biaxial fiberglass with chopped strand mat (like our PLM-A-600/300) solves this. The chopped layer fills the gaps, creates a resin-rich bonding surface to prevent delamination between layers, and allows fabricators to rapidly build massive laminate thickness in a single step.

+ Is this fabric suitable for High-End Vacuum Infusion with Epoxy?

Absolutely. Because our epoxy compatible biaxial fiberglass is held together by mechanical stitching rather than chemical binders, there is no barrier to resin flow. The stitching threads act as micro-channels, pulling the resin rapidly across the fibers. It wets out swiftly and thoroughly, making it highly preferred for vacuum infusion biaxial fiberglass processes in aerospace, wind energy, and luxury yacht building.

+ Can you custom slit the roll width for my specific molds?

Yes. As a leading multiaxial fiberglass stitched mat manufacturer, we operate advanced slitters. We can produce custom width biaxial fiberglass fabric ranging precisely from 200mm up to 2600mm. This ensures the fabric perfectly matches your specific RTM or infusion molds, entirely eliminating expensive edge trimming on your factory floor.
