POLEMA's stitch-bonded fiberglass fabric (also known as Non-Crimp Fabric / NCF) is a next-generation composite reinforcement. Featuring unidirectionally arranged rovings with zero weft/warp crimp intersections, it offers superior mechanical strength, excellent fatigue resistance, and rapid resin impregnation. It is the optimal choice for demanding closed-mold processes like RTM, pultrusion, and filament winding.
Stitch-Bonded Fiberglass Fabric (Non-Crimp Fabric)
Stitch-bonded fiberglass fabric, universally recognized in the composites industry as Non-Crimp Fabric (NCF), is an advanced multi-layer reinforcement. It is manufactured by arranging layers of fiberglass roving unidirectionally and parallelly (typically at 0° and 90° axes), combined with an outermost layer of chopped strands if required. The entire structural system is securely needled together using strong stitch threads.
Because this unique architecture completely eliminates the intersections (crimp) between weft and warp yarns, the fabric delivers optimal mechanical performance, outstanding fatigue resistance, and rapid resin impregnation. It is exceptionally cost-effective and easy to work with. With a maximum customizable width of 2600mm, it is highly specified for manufacturing FRP boat hulls, automobile bodies, chemical pipes, and advanced laminates. It excels in mechanically molded processes such as RTM (Resin Transfer Molding), pultrusion, and filament winding.
