The resin's viscosity is optimized for manual brush application, troweling, laminating, and filament winding techniques. It exhibits moderate flow properties—neither running excessively nor piling up—and ensures rapid, thorough wetting of reinforcing materials such as fiberglass cloth and mats. It effectively facilitates the release of trapped air bubbles, thereby preventing defects such as voids, delamination, and pinholes in the finished product; the cured structure is dense, with a smooth and even surface finish. Furthermore, the curing process is gradual and generates low exothermic heat, minimizing the risk of issues such as cracking or warping. Once cured, the resin demonstrates exceptional mechanical strength, toughness, and resistance to weathering and corrosion, enabling it to withstand prolonged exposure to outdoor environments and general chemical media.

Core Performance Advantages

FAQ

What type of resin is PLM-1001?
PLM-1001 is a general-purpose orthophthalic unsaturated polyester resin. It offers exceptional versatility, being suitable for use in both hand lay-up and filament winding processes; it serves as a standard base resin commonly used in the mass production of ordinary FRP components.
Does it have a high shrinkage rate? Is it prone to deformation or cracking?
It exhibits low curing shrinkage, meaning that under normal lay-up conditions, it is unlikely to warp or deform. For thicker parts, employing a layered application technique to control exothermic heat generation effectively prevents issues related to cracking and internal stress.
