Low Shrinkage Artificial Resin Overview

This product is an unsaturated polyester resin specifically formulated for artificial stone and natural stone applications. It is designed for use in solid surface materials, quartz stone, engineered stone, and marble—including repair work and casting processes—and offers key advantages such as low shrinkage, high gloss, high hardness, ease of polishing, and resistance to yellowing.

The resin exhibits excellent flow properties, rapid de-aeration, and superior self-leveling characteristics. It demonstrates outstanding compatibility with stone powders and aggregates; once cured, the resulting material features a dense structure that is free of pinholes, resistant to cracking, and dimensionally stable. The surface possesses a high degree of gloss, and after polishing, the texture closely resembles that of natural stone. Furthermore, the product offers excellent resistance to abrasion, oil stains, and aging; it resists yellowing and fading over prolonged periods of use, while ensuring strong adhesion and reliable structural integrity.

PLM-770 by POLEMA is an advanced low shrinkage artificial resin specifically engineered for continuous production of large-format quartz and engineered stone slabs. As a leading manufacturer, we deliver this high-strength artificial resin with superior curing stability to ensure your slabs remain flat, crack-free, and highly lustrous after polishing.

FAQ

What is the difference between this product and models 191 and 196?
Model 770 features lower viscosity, superior penetration, and excellent wetting properties for stone powder and sand. When used to manufacture artificial stone, it results in fewer air bubbles, higher hardness, and a brighter polished finish. Models 191 and 196 are geared more towards fiberglass applications and are not as effective as the 770 for stone-related projects.
What are the curing times? What is the working time?
At 25°C, the gel time is 8–15 minutes, initial curing takes 20–40 minutes, and full curing is achieved within 24 hours. The working time is moderate, making it suitable for casting, vibration compaction, and compression molding.

Instructions for Use and Storage Conditions
1.1.png
PLM-770 resin contains no accelerator. Appropriate amount of accelerator and curing agent shall be added during use according to operating environment and requirements.
2.png
To prevent the natural molding surface in contact with air from being sticky after curing, add paraffin-styrene solution properly.
3.png
For better product performance, post-curing at 80℃ for several hours is recommended.
4.png
Before use, store the resin in its original package (avoid opening or damaging the drum) in a dry indoor area below 25℃.
5.png
Elevated temperature and light exposure will significantly shorten shelf life. Keep away from direct sunlight and heat sources during storage.
6.png
Unsaturated polyester resin containing styrene is flammable. Keep away from open flames during storage. Refer to the Safety Data Sheet.
